English circa 1740 George II period mirror or looking glass in the neoclassical English Baroque style of architect William Kent (c. 1685 – 1748) having carved and gilt wood frame with ‘Greek-Ear’ corners, egg-and-dart borders, and oak leaf and acorn garland festoons at sides.
Condition: Estate condition. Wear commensurate with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Unrestored old gilt finish age darkened; age separation at corners; 19th-century mirror plate with age distress; presents beautifully.
