French Beaux-Arts, circa 1855, India ink wash drawing on paper of large scale entitled “Rome Fragments Antiqves” attributed to important French Beaux-Arts architect Gabriel-Auguste Ancelet (1829 – 1895) depicting the sarcophagus of Roman Consul Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus, ‘Warwick Vase’ on pedestal, capitals, roundels, pedestals, and acanthus frieze housed in an Empire style giltwood frame with compound French mat. Work is 25″ by 37″.
