An exceptional pair of last quarter 19th-century English circa 1740 George II rococo style bench-made side chairs having exquisitely carved walnut frames with Rococo “peanut” crests surmounting ‘lemniscate’ and scrolled baluster form back-splats connecting deep upholstered seats on dynamically carved front legs with shell, “peanut”, scroll, acanthus, and bellflower motifs terminating in ball-and-claw feet and scroll-carved splayed cabriole rear legs ending in pointed pad feet.
