Regency Sycamore Stand
Unusual circa 1820 English Regency period stand of elegant form constructed of quarter sawn sycamore wood having rectangular molded top on four concave supports with central “shelf” connecting to quadraform concave platform base with finely carved lion’s paw and scrolling acanthus castered feet. Top measures 13.5″ by 7.5″. Originally it served many purposes as a kettle stand, tea table, drinks side table and wine table, it functions equally well today as a chic side table by a chair or as a pedestal.
Condition: Good. Wear commensurate with age and use.
