Elegant circa 1820 English Regency rosewood-veneered mahogany center table; the tilting top with foliate rinceau brass inlaid border with moulded brass ribbon-bound foliate garland bottom edge on foliate brass inlaid center trigonal pedestal support with fluted volute edges ending with acanthus bracketing on beaded-edge plinth, the brass line-inlaid concave triform base with beaded top-edge ending in original finely-cast bronze scrolling lions paw feet on concealed casters.

Provenance: Purportedly from Whitemarsh Hall, the neo-Georgian Horace Trumbauer designed mansion built from 1916 to 1921 for banking-executive Edward T. Stotesbury in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania and demolished 1980; the art and furniture collection assembled under the guidance of prominent English art dealer Sir Joseph Duveen; before its destruction, Whitemarsh Hall was the third largest private residence in the United States.
